The future begins now
Solar-electric-mobility has become affordable

My own story:
In my youth as a teenager riding a motorbike meant the true great freedom.
It meant everything to me, it was not just a status symbol but also a symbol of growing up and independence. My first motorbike was kind of the first holy grale I ever had.
My only trouble was the limited pocket money, that I now had to pour in the form of mixture 1:50 into the tank, witch restricted my limitless freedom.
Anyone who has ever watched a whole squadron of 2strokes after school, as they rushed with a deafening roar and smelly smoke clouds into the traffic, might also has thought about whether all this noise and stench is unavoidable. It bothered me at least, but I could forget it again soon by the enjoyment of riding. The dependence on fuel drove me over the years into a crisis of conscience, which I simply ignored, as all my 50ccm friends did.
But at 21 my conscience got the upper hand and I got back on a bicycle. I made even long trips through the south of Europe with it. But my ecological euphoria did not last very long. I felt far too often as a 3rd class road user, and soon I bought myself a motorbike again, together with the bad environmental conscience.

Political background:
For more than 100 years, a brilliant but also a fatal invention is ruling the world: The gasoline engine. Unbelievable how much effort and money has gone into improving this antique technique. And still they consume more fuel than necessary and pollute our precious air. The technollogy of ecological transportation is there for already hundred years, hidden in the drawers of the car and oil industry.
Probably until the immense profit on gasoline and diesel fuels is finally over.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AU3_2IT8k8)
Practical examples like in the picture beside (a converted Renault Kangoo) are already there. Here the electric motor is simply connected to the clutch. The gear box and transmission can stay original.

Should we not better protect our last stocks of crude oil for our children, they might know better things to do with it, as to blow them through the exhaust pipe like us?

The psychology of:
Our conscience should also focus on many other things in life. Wasting and destructing our world by applying substitutive satisfactions and adopted concepts is done in a wide area. Often we can not even see the consequences of all these insane technologies and ideologies. Although we all know somehow that we can not go on like this.
Now I realize how much our whole generation suffers from these ignored inner knowledge and beliefes. Our self respect will probably unfold its full power again, if we can really face all of our eco-disasters and missunderstandings.
And then we might be able some day, to look into the mirror once again.

The call:
But what can we do? For the little man there was not so much left to do as to submit to the dictatorship of big corporations. Commercial electric vehicles are simply still far too expensive.
But this really has now changed! If we do not want to continue waiting until the big companies will offer us something affordable, we should just be active ourselves. Certainly everyone will be very surprised if we now look at some numbers and examples:
The cost for a homebuilt potent E-Bike with which you can drive most of your short distances will be between 300 £ and 700 £. (www.solarebike.blogspot.com)
For those who wants to start very small: There are conversion kits for wheelbarrows for about 350£. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=HClOBK9-Jac&feature=youtu.be)
A conversion kit for an electric motorbike will cost from 700 £ to 1100 £.
To convert a car into an electric car, with about 50 Miles range will only cost 5000 £ for the materials.
Those are really no more astronomical numbers, are they? The maintenance costs are even lower than for conventional vehicles. And when we go to change our current grid provider, we can already be mobile with green electricity.
But even a compleately idependent solar recharging system, moves now for many in a possible financial sector. I mean ... what are we waiting for?
